Richard Stopa

Richard Stopa is the founding principal of Bay Business Advisors with offices in the Washington D.C. metro area. Bay Business Advisors is a merger and acquisition firm specializing in the Information Technology and Defense and Government Contractor industries.

Richard has been involved in mergers and acquisitions work as well as franchise sales with having been involved in over 100 transactions.

His credentials include over 30 years of owning businesses as well as working in senior level management, sales and marketing positions in the IT industry.

He is experienced in computer distribution, computer reselling, e-commerce and software.

Mr. Stopa was the elected chairperson of CompTIA, one of the largest national computer trade associations. Before being elected Chairman, he was also on the board of directors.

As president of Inacomp America, Richard helped build a 600 unit franchise and reseller network across the United States. Richard was a senior executive and reported to the CEO of Inacomp Computer Centers which later was merged and then sold to Compaq Computer Corporation. Revenue growth during his eight year tenure went from $25M to over $2 billion. He also has had computer reseller experience thru opening and running a 20,000 square foot computer superstore and by being a founding board member of an Inacomp subsidiary, Computer City, one of the first computer superstore chains.

He has spent over six years as a CEO and COO of two Internet and e-commerce companies overseeing operations, sales, marketing, and software development.

Richard is a member of the International Business Brokers Association and is currently the president of the Mid-Atlantic Business Intermediary Association.
